  1. Integrity Express Logistics

    Software Engineer (contract) · Transportation Management System
    Oct 2025 – Jul 2026
    • Contract engagement, completed. Joined the software engineering team for the final build and launch of IEL's new Transportation Management System, the enterprise application the business runs on.
    • Owned the financial integration layer connecting the TMS to external accounting, document-audit, and carrier-payment systems: AP/AR synchronization, payment reconciliation, credit and debit adjustments, and document sync.
    • Merged 110+ pull requests (features, defect fixes, refactors) reviewed by the Principal Architect; several key changes went through dozens of review rounds before merging.
    • Built the accounts payable and receivable dashboards the accounting team uses daily.
    • Validated a critical third-party API's specification against real production traffic, captured that traffic to make its behavior reproducible, and built a dedicated automated test suite for the integration.
    • Fixed timezone and data-correctness bugs; added refactors and test coverage across the subsystem.

  2. Independent engineer & SaaS founder

    2018 – present
    • Insurance Storefronts: built and operate a multi-tenant SaaS for independent insurance agents. Stripe/Cashier billing with ACH, dunning, webhook sync, and a reconciliation command; a Gemini-powered website builder; five embeddable quote engines; a lead CRM; and a 70,000+ page programmatic SEO directory at about 250,000 Google impressions a week.
    • LeadSwitchly: designed and built an API-first lead routing network with validation, deterministic scoring, signed webhooks, and a credit wallet.
    • Client work (Upwork Top Rated Plus, 100% Job Success, 3,700+ hours): led back-end development on Qwire Clear, a Laravel + Vue legal-tech platform, working in a team with peer-reviewed pull requests; built RealTime, an accounting SaaS for real estate; built Automate.Ink analytics on the Printavo API; rebuilt Rebel Rates and Campus.Ink from procedural PHP on Laravel.

  3. GroupVitals

    Software Engineer · group-management SaaS for churches
    2013 – 2018
    • Helped lay the foundation for most of the codebase and architecture, on a small team.
    • Took over the Fellowship One API integrations, pulling and pushing data across their APIs; helped build Stripe subscriptions priced by group count.
    • Introduced continuous integration (Codeship), code reviews, and PHPUnit testing; built queue workers on Beanstalkd and Supervisor, S3 backups, and error alerting.
    • Refactored toward repositories, gateways, and dependency injection to make the code testable; built the data migration from GroupForms, the earlier CodeIgniter product.

    • Fancy Hair: built an e-commerce platform from scratch on CodeIgniter over about three years, with PayPal IPN, gift cards, affiliates, and a full admin panel.
    • Custom PHP and MySQL applications since the early 2000s, including a modular CodeIgniter CMS and membership and affiliate systems.
